Nick Andersen is a very accomplished trumpet player known for his technical virtuosity and dynamic musical ability. With a very established educational background, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and is currently earning his Masters of Trumpet at Northern Illinois University. He has a diverse musical background performing in Wind Ensembles, Orchestras, Marching Bands, Jazz Bands and Chamber groups alike. During his time at NIU, he has been principal trumpet of both the Wind Ensemble and Philharmonic performing major works of new and old. He has also traveled to compete at the National Trumpet Competition and the International Trumpet Guild. He has had the pleasure of performing with the Wheaton Municipal Band and the Middleton Orchestra where his electrifying playing has left audiences and fellow musicians with a lasting impression of who he is.
His philosophy on playing is to make it as easy as possible for the student, when playing is easy, it is fun and that’s what music should be! This can only be done through consistent practice of good habits. He wants each student to establish a lifelong love for music and teach them lifelong lessons that can impact them outside of music as well.
