Jayvan Washington

Hi, my name is Jayvan Washington, an instructor of trombone and brass here at the Music Connection in Sycamore, IL. No matter what your goals as a musician are, I’ll be there every step of the way to help you achieve them. I believe any student, regardless of age, background, or skill level, can learn to play at a high level through a system of teaching that is catered to their learning style. It’s my passion to teach and witness my students, through great effort, to get to that point. I take pride in being a musician who is a “doubler”, teaching both classical and jazz. I began my teaching career during my undergraduate years, in which I earned my Bachelor of Music Education in 2024. I’m currently completing my Master of Music at NIU. I’ve taught privately since 2022 and I’ve had short stints teaching elementary, middle school, and high school band/orchestra during my student-teaching days.
